Jenna is a single mother whose daughter is grown. She is invited to Italy by an old friend to cook for a men’s missionaries retreat and takes her sister-in-law Sue with her. The two women embark on a journey of discovery in the grace of God. They learn that true hospitality is showing love to a perfect stranger. That we are victims of grace and all we have to do is stand still and receive it as it falls on us.
At one point Jenna ask herself if she is bankrupt because of her “limitations”? or if she is “rich in options.” That is a question we all should ask ourselves. God does not always answer our prayers the way we expect but we will realize that his grace is always enough.
Through the week, and several unforeseen circumstances, the two friends find a purpose that helps both of them realize that they were not done.
