The Ollie Chandler Collection by Randy Alcorn is going to be one of the hardest book reviews I’ve ever written. It is a three in one compilation and each one of the three stories was enjoyable and could have been reviewed by itself.
The set is about a detective, Ollie Chandler, and a couple of news reporters who work for the Chicago Tribune , Jake Woods and Clarence Abernathy
The first was Deadline which introduced Jake as the main character. He and his two best friends from high school, were in an automobile accident. They were killed and Jake who enlisted Ollie to investigate whether or not it was an accident.
The second, Dominion, featured Clarence whose sister is murdered in an apparent gang shooting. However Ollie is looking into it and Clarence keeps investigating on his own.
The third, Deception, has Ollie as the main character who is probing into some murders that seemed to be linked and someone is trying to frame him.
In each of the stories the primary individual is brought to a decision about God. Randy inter disperses the story with the murdered person in Heaven looking on. It is a very intriguing concept and I thoroughly enjoyed the series and was given much to think about.
I would highly recommend this volume or each book individually. Well worth the read!
