Allison Kavanaugh moves to the mountains of Idaho to start over after her marriage ends. Believing she had heard from God she had used “tough love” with her husband Tony, an alcholic. But he had walked out instead of the outcome she had envisioned.
Moving into the cabin her Great Aunt Emma had left her north of Boise she begins to work through her disappointment and reaches out and learns to talk to God again. Doubting her ability to hear from God, she had drifted and stopped talking to Him. In the attic she finds several journals of her aunts where she discovers an aunt she didn’t know as well as she thought.
The book is a telling of two stories and through them both we see God’s redemptive grace and restoration. I loved reading this narrative and give it a big thumbs up!
I received this book free from Thomas Nelson for an honest review.
