I’ve read several books by Janice Cantore and never been disappointed. This last one, DRAWING FIRE Cold Case Justice is the first of a new series. I usually don’t care to read the first of a series and then have to wait a year for the next one. Smile However, for Janice Cantore, it is worth it.
Abby Hart is a homicide detective in Long Beach, California and becomes the lead detective in a case the she discovers is a serial killer. Her main witness is a private detective, Luke Murphy, who she thinks is a glory hound.
Forced to work together they discover they have a mutual interest in a cold case and set out to see what they can find. Abby is ordered to leave the case alone and it is given to two other detectives. Instead she takes a leave of absence in order to pursue it on her own time with the assistance of Luke.
I have to agree with Abby that all murders, in fact all unsolved cases of any nature, should be solved and allow closure for the people involved. I am eager for the next book to come out in the Spring of 2016.
I received Drawing Fire free from Tyndale Fiction Publishers for an honest review.
