Someone Like You by Victoria Bylin was the first book I’d read by this author. I will be reading more hers that’s for sure.
Zeke Monroe is a fixer in the hotel industry. A MK, or missionary kid, he became disillusioned, and like many young people can do, left the church when his parents died. However, true to the scriptures, Proverbs 22:6 tells us “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” He is struggling, feeling the tug of God and so afraid he can’t measure up.
Julie Dare, is Zeke’s college love he hasn’t quite go over. She also just happens to be the liaison between the hotel and a client they are trying to lock in for events. Having resisted Zeke’s attempts to evangelize her in college she has since come to faith. She also has a son by his nemesis from school, who she has divorced, and is a single mom.
Will they be able to get past what happened back then? Will Zeke find his way back to faith?
I thoroughly enjoyed Someone Like You and am looking forward to more of Victoria’s books.
I received this book free from Bethany House, a division of Baker Publishing Group, for an honest review.
