DANGER IN YOSEMITE

Trapped in Yosemite is not my favorite of Dana Mentink. Her female main character, Stella, is not very likable. Her over the top panicking, childish misdirected anger at Von, and determination to do things her way was irritating.

The story starts with Stella Rivers witnessing a murder and escalates into her being pursued by the killer. An earthquake destabilizes the area trapping a camp of people that Von Sharpe, Stella’s ex-fiancé, is managing. He takes her there until they can get the clearance to leave. The killer follows them there where the situation becomes dangerous for all.

I read reviews that didn’t care for Von, but I have always tried to understand a persons character by where they came from. His back ground explains a lot. His determination to protect Stella and the rest of the group is admirable.

I did enjoy the book overall and will read Dana’s books anytime.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
